Midweek Announcements 11.4

This Week's Sermon Scripture

Leviticus 17
Women's prayer & worship night
Come join us this Friday, November 6, 7-9pm as we create a space for the women of CC to connect with God through prayer and worship. We'll have music playing throughout the evening and you can come and go as you please. This will be a space where you can pray with others that are there or individually. This is a freeform evening without a lot of structure, but a space for you to come to meet with God and pray with others. We hope you can join us!

Parents, Sunday is a Baptism Sunday!
We are so excited to have our Kindergarten through 4th-grade classrooms join our church family in the sanctuary to watch and celebrate together! Following the baptisms, our teachers will guide the children back to their regular classrooms, where you can pick them up at the end of the service.

College student lunch - this Sunday, 11/8
Students, join us for lunch in the sanctuary immediately following this Sunday morning's Renewal Gathering! Meet our elders and staff, learn more about Christ Community, discuss what you heard and saw during the service, and hear members share how our church family and their walk with God have impacted their lives.

Pine Collective Lunch - 11/15
If you or someone you love is impacted by a disability or chronic illness, we would love for you to join our quarterly Pine Collective Lunch. Pine trees thrive when they grow next to each other, and we believe gathering together over a meal, the Word and in prayer, will embolden us to live out this unique calling God has placed in our lives. Please RSVP for the meal happening on Nov 15 right after church.
RSVP
We also are in need of two people (or a family) to help with childcare. You will join us for lunch, and then hang out with the kids for 30 minutes in the childcare classroom. Please text Jess Etheridge if you are interested in serving in this way (309-258-0391)

Midweek Manna:
  1. Happy Reformation Day- praise the Lord for the Reformation ='>  https://x.com/MattSmethurst/status/2116553504479498572
  2. A quote from William Tyndale who popularized the word “atonement” through his translation of the Bible into English:
"Evangelion (which we call the gospel) is a Greek word that signifies good, merry, glad, and joyful things, that make a man’s heart glad, and make him sing, dance, and leap for joy. Christ gives unto all that repent and believe... ...His life, wherewith He swallowed and devoured up death; ...His righteousness, wherewith He banished sin; ...His salvation, wherewith He overcame eternal damnation. Can the wretched one that knows himself to be wrapped in sin, and in danger of death and hell, hear any more joyous a thing than such glad and comforting tidings of Christ? He cannot but be glad and laugh from the bottom of his heart, if he believes that the tidings are true."
  3. In light of what we’ve been learning in Deep Discipleship, a humorous (and theologically accurate) take on the Trinity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQLfgaUoQCw&t=4s
