Foster Care Kits
Kids in foster care can spend a lot of time in DCFS worker’s cars, so we want to give car kits to DCFS with small toys, cleaning supplies, and basics! We will be collecting supplies for the month of July. Please consider buying items off the Amazon List to help us make the kits:

There will be a spot near the welcome table to drop off supplies. We will be praying over the kits in August!

All Church Picnic & Fellowship
Our Annual Church Picnic is almost here! Join us on Saturday, August 8, from 12:00–2:00 PM at the church building for an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends, neighbors, coworkers, or family to experience the community at Christ Community. We'll enjoy a Chick-fil-A lunch and other treats, along with bounce houses and outdoor activities for kids, lawn games, and plenty of space both inside and outside to relax, connect, and catch up with one another. We hope you'll make plans to join us and invite someone to come along!

We have a lost and found bin at our welcome table. Please see Alyssa at that table if you are missing something!

Midweek Manna, Elders & Staff Edition. This week from Garrett:

I've been thinking a lot about marriage as I come up on our anniversary. The Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller has been the most helpful book to me in thinking about marriage. One specific thing that was helpful was hearing how Tim felt like he married several different "iterations" of his wife over the course of their marriage, because we are people and people change. That book helped give me such a vision for loving Alaina for a lifetime.

I love talking about the workplace and the theology of work. God absolutely cares about who we are in the workplace but he also cares about what we do in our work. The theology of work begins with the directives God gave to Adam and Eve in the garden to "subdue" creation. Its encouraging for me to consider how my work fits the call God gave in Genesis. Here is a good starter article on the topic:

Id love to talk about either of these things with you this week!
